The Mobile Radar Complex is intended for the detection, the measurement of movement parameters (azimuth, range, radial velocity and coordinates) of low altitude and ground targets, automatic recognition of target classes and the automatic tracking of predicted target routes within the zones specified by the operative’s protocol.
The radar is located on a platform with controlled azimuth and elevation. The azimuth drive can operate all-round surveillance and sector scan modes. It can allow the scan of sectors in the elevation of between -30° and +90°. The radar uses this capability to create points which are transmitted to the trajectory detection and target tracking system (secondary information processing).3D radar systems provide detection and tracking of trajectories of objects, even when they are in radio silence mode.
After receiving the trajectory data, the operator of the optoelectronic system can turn the optical system and the electronic countermeasure antenna in the direction of target with joystick. Based on the results of visual observation of the target, the head of the crew commander can make a decision to turn on suppression systems (jamming countermeasures). Radar detects moving air objects at ranges of up to 20 km, provided they have a line of sight. The radar antenna forms 8 narrow beams in the vertical plane, which allows to measure range, azimuth, elevation and height of an object.
The radar system has been designed to outrange its competitors allowing for earlier detection and target neutralization. It has been fitted on a highly mobile MRAP that has been modified to be used as its control station. This allows the system to move quickly over adverse and rough terrain, adapting radar detection zones quickly as active battlefield environments change detection requirements.
